Vidya Village

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (ToS) define the terms of access and use of the Vidya Village platform. Vidya Village is a platform for discovering and booking live wellness classes (yoga, pilates, breathwork, yoga nidra, etc.) offered by independent Teachers. The platform is currently offered in beta version and subject to change.

2. Acceptance of Terms

Using the platform implies full acceptance of these ToS. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.

3. Service Description (beta version)

Vidya Village allows you to:

browse a live class schedule,
book a spot in a class,
receive booking-related notifications,
access practical information to join a class.

Important: Vidya Village is not a training organization and does not issue any certification, diploma, or guarantee of results.

4. Registration and User Account

Access to certain features requires creating a user account. Users agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information, including a valid email address. Each user is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and the use of their account.

5. Class Booking

Booking a class constitutes a commitment to participate in a live session at a given date and time. As spots may be limited, any confirmed booking prevents another student from registering.

6. Payment

Two payment modes coexist on the platform:

Manual payment: the student pays the Teacher directly via their payment link (PayPal, Venmo, etc.). Vidya Village does not collect any payment and is not party to the contract.
Stripe payment: payment is collected by the Teacher via Stripe Connect (Direct Charges). The Teacher is the merchant of record. Vidya Village may charge a service fee.

For manual payment disputes, students contact the Teacher directly. For Stripe payments, see the cancellation policy below.

7. Cancellation and Refund

Unless otherwise specified by the Teacher:

cancellation is free up to the cancellation deadline set by the Teacher (typically 2 hours before the class starts),
after this deadline, no automatic refund is issued,
teacher cancels: full automatic refund for Stripe-paid bookings; for manual payments, students contact the Teacher directly,
student cancels before the deadline: full automatic refund for Stripe-paid bookings. Indicative timeline: 5–10 business days depending on the student's bank and fund availability on the Teacher's Stripe account.

Regarding Stripe refunds: Vidya Village technically triggers the refund, but the Teacher is the merchant of record. If the Teacher's Stripe account balance is insufficient, the refund may be held as pending until the next Stripe payout. The Teacher will be notified by email in this case. Additionally, the initial Stripe processing fee (~1.4% + €0.25 for European cards) is not returned on a refund and remains the Teacher's responsibility. The student is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid; in exceptional cases where the automatic refund fails, the Teacher is responsible for completing the refund manually.

Specific terms may vary by class and are specified on each session or communicated by the Teacher.

8. Class Conduct

Classes take place live via an external or integrated video conferencing tool. The quality of the experience depends on:

the user's internet connection,
their equipment,
their environment.

Vidya Village does not guarantee an identical experience for all users.

9. Liability

Vidya Village implements reasonable measures to ensure the platform functions properly but does not guarantee the absence of errors or interruptions, especially in beta version. Vidya Village cannot be held responsible for:

the content of classes taught by Teachers,
physical or material damage related to practice,
technical issues on the user's side,
disputes between students and Teachers.

Users are advised to ensure their physical condition allows them to participate in classes and, if in doubt, to consult a healthcare professional.

10. Intellectual Property

Elements comprising the Vidya Village platform (texts, design, logo, structure) are protected by intellectual property law. Educational content of classes belongs to the Teachers.

11. Personal Data

Personal data processing is detailed in the Privacy Policy.

12. Modification of ToS

Vidya Village reserves the right to modify these ToS. Users will be informed of any significant changes.

13. Applicable Law

These ToS are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of French courts.
